Review: To Have Not by Frances Lefkowitz

Frances Lefkowitz is a gifted story-teller. To Have Not is a wonderful story that speaks to the heart of the human spirit. She tells of growing up in the city streets of poverty ridden neighborhoods and ends up going to an Ivy league school where she works hard to make something of herself from the little she had. It was a beautiful and emotional ride from beginning to end. The way she describes her life, it is as if I was right there with her. I found myself laughing and crying at the same time. I rooted for her to find success un her life and was please how the memoir turned out.

Review of Two Tickets To The Christmas Ball

As the book opens Cora is rushing to the Warner,Werner, Wizbotterdad book store to buy her uncle a book. But little did she know that she would be receiving a ticket to a Christmas ball. It continues with the budding romance of Cora and Simon. Intertwined is Cora's past that has to do with her family and her recently found Christianity. It is a beautiful and magically written Christmas story that you will enjoy from beginning to end. It will get you in to the spirit of Christmas and all of the magic it holds.

Review of The Naked Gardener by L. B. Gschwandtner

The Naked Gardener by L. B. Gschwandtner was a lovely and easy read. I was drawn in from the start by the ease and comfort Katelyn felt with herself as she gardened in the buff. The story is not just about Katelyn though, it tells the story of six woman, different and yet the same in many ways. I enjoyed the woman, their relationships with each other and the way the interacted on the short trip they took. L.B. also writes of Katelyn and he boyfriend Maze and her fear of commitment, because of the failure of a past relationship. I would have liked to hear a little bit more about Maze but all in all I truly enjoyed The Naked Gardener. I would hands down read anything that L. B. Gschwandtner writes.

Review of "Perfection" by Julie Metz

When I received Julie Metz's "Perfection" I could not wait to start reading it, anticipating a great memoir from the description I read online.

I was not at all disappointed.

From the very beginning I was drawn to Julie and the challenges she faced as she learned of her husbands other life after his untimely death.

From debt to the staggering news of his extramarital affairs, Julie learned that what she had built with the love of her life was a nothing but a lie.

Sorting through the remains of her life and raising her young daughter left her physically and emotionally drained, yet she managed to make a few life changing decisions of her own. She took what she was left and made the best of it. I found myself rooting for her as she changed her life for the better.



It was a heart-breaking but triumphant tale that I would highly recommend to any reader.

I give Julie Metz and her wonderful memoir "Perfection" 5 stars.
